TapTechNews July 4th news, Microsoft yesterday (July 3rd) posted on its blog, inviting Microsoft 365 Insider program members to test the new file menu options of the web version of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, hoping this change can enhance users' productivity.
Microsoft said that the 'file' menu is the core of Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and users create, open, save, share and manage files through this menu, but the current problem is that it is not intuitive enough, and finding commands may be difficult.
Microsoft said it actively listens to users' feedback and suggestions to make the 'file' menu more intuitive and lighter. TapTechNews attached the related improvements as follows:
Optimized file renaming: Users can simply click on the file name in the title bar to rename the file.
Refreshed auto-saving experience: The green icon allows you to visually confirm that all edits have been saved.
Enhanced search experience: Searching for important commands is no longer a chore, and users can easily take control.
Quick display of folder structure: Select the cloud icon next to the file name in the title bar, or click the file menu to show the file location.
No need to save as: Users' files are always automatically saved, and users can also create copies of the files online or download them to their computers.
Export to PDF and other formats - The relevant commands for saving works in different formats are now available under File > Export (instead of File > Save As).
Added new commands: The 'Move' and 'Version History' commands have been added to the 'file' menu.
