First Batch of Electric Bicycle Industry Regulatory Announcement 6 Enterprises Selected

According to the information on the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on July 30, recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has organized the first batch of regulatory announcement management work in the electric bicycle industry. Initially, 6 enterprises are determined to meet the requirements of the Regulatory Conditions for the Electric Bicycle Industry (hereinafter referred to as the Regulatory Conditions) and have been publicly disclosed on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, with the public disclosure period from July 30 to August 12.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that China is a major producer and consumer of electric bicycles, with a social stock of more than 350 million. Electric bicycles have become an important means of transportation for the masses for short trips. At this stage, there are still problems in the electric bicycle industry such as low industrial concentration, weak innovation and R & D capabilities of enterprises, and insufficient quality assurance capabilities, which have a gap with the needs of people's better lives.
In order to strengthen the management of the electric bicycle industry and promote the standardized production and operation of electric bicycle enterprises, on April 29, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in conjunction with the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Fire Rescue Bureau, issued the Regulatory Conditions for the Electric Bicycle Industry and the Regulatory Announcement Management Measures for the Electric Bicycle Industry, and organized the first batch of application work for the regulatory announcement of the electric bicycle industry in May. A total of 45 electric bicycle enterprises were recommended by provincial-level departments in charge of industry and information technology, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized experts to review the materials and conduct on-site inspections of the applicant enterprises according to procedures. Ultimately, 6 enterprises met the requirements of the Regulatory Conditions and are proposed to be included in the first batch of announcement lists.

On April 30, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Fire Rescue Bureau jointly issued the Regulatory Conditions for the Electric Bicycle Industry and the Regulatory Announcement Management Measures for the Electric Bicycle Industry, mainly putting forward requirements from seven aspects including enterprise layout, process equipment, product quality and management, intelligent manufacturing and green manufacturing, safe production, protection of workers' rights and interests, and protection of consumers' rights and interests.
