Samsung Display's QD-OLED and OLED Notebook Screens Earn Pantone Certifications
TapTechNews July 4th news, Samsung Display today announced that its QD-OLED display screens and OLED notebook screen products have taken the lead in obtaining Pantone (commonly known as Pantone) certification and skin tone certification in the industry first.
The TV QD-OLED panel of Samsung Display became the first screen to pass these two validations in 2023, and a year later, the color reproduction power of the two types of IT display panels of Samsung Display has again been recognized by the authoritative color institution Pantone.
Samsung TV plans to take this opportunity of the display and notebook screen products passing the two Pantone certifications to further consolidate its advantages in the rapidly growing IT OLED market.
TapTechNews attached the requirements of Pantone validation and Pantone skin tone certification as follows:
Devices passing PantoneValidate need to accurately simulate more than 2,300 colors in the Pantone color matching system;
The Pantone skin tone certification PantoneSkinToneValidated requires the tested device to be able to faithfully reproduce more than 150 skin tones according to the definition of the Pantone skin tone guide.
