TapTechNews August 6th news, the tech media AndroidAuthority yesterday (August 5th) posted a blog post, revealing that Google is internally developing a brand new Weather application, which will debut simultaneously with the Pixel 9 series of phones.
It is said that the new weather application will replace the existing PixelWeather (com.google.android.apps.weather) application, and will appear as a pre-installed application in the Pixel 9 series of phones, and will be promoted to older Pixel devices later. TapTechNews attached relevant comparison pictures as follows:
The new weather application adopts a simple design, with a simple gradient background that extends from the top of the screen to the bottom and changes color according to the current weather conditions.
The largest element on the screen is the current temperature text written in bold, and a icon representing the current weather condition replaces the degree symbol.
Below the temperature are the familiar cards that provide all the information that a weather application can provide - hourly and 10-day forecasts, humidity, sunrise and sunset, wind power, air quality index, visibility, UV index and air pressure.
An interesting new feature is that users can long-press these cards (except for the hourly forecast) to adjust the position according to their own usage preferences.
Clicking into the 10-Day Forecast in the Future will open a similar widget-based user interface, but with fewer elements and the cards are not adjustable.
The location selection screen is very simple, but compared to the old design, it pays more attention to the current weather conditions and temperature.
Maybe it's an early beta version, and there is no animation for the switching operation.
