Intel Partners with China Petroleum to Develop Domestic Liquid Cooling Solution

TapTechNews August 29th news, Intel today announced a cooperation with China Petroleum to jointly verify the domestic liquid cooling solution to meet the needs of domestic customers for the local supply chain and promote the implementation of immersion liquid cooling.

In this cooperation, it includes the improved performance/power consumption ratio designed with the fourth-generation Intel Xeon scalable processor architecture, and puts forward the heat dissipation compatibility requirements for products including the Intel Xeon 6 processor and the Gaudi AI accelerator, etc., and jointly creates a local immersion liquid cooling solution DC-SCL for sustainable green data centers.

According to a number of data center immersion liquid cooling technical standards proposed by Intel, Intel, together with China Petroleum Kunlun Lubricant and Green Cloud Map, H3C, etc., has jointly completed the research and development, manufacturing, testing, and verification of the new immersion liquid cooling heat dissipation system solution, and established an analysis and evaluation method for the coolant heat dissipation performance; and carried out test items such as stability & pressure test, maximum environmental working condition temperature operation, liquid cooling system performance test, PUE test, etc.

The DC-SCL series coolant is claimed to have characteristics such as low viscosity and higher flash point. (TapTechNews note: The flash point is the lowest temperature at which a mixture of a material product and external air forms a mixture and flashes and immediately burns when in contact with a flame.)

Intel stated that the company will jointly promote the DC-SCL series immersion server coolant solution with ecological partners in the future to further improve the green and biodegradable ability of the refrigerant, increasing the maximum power limit of the data center from 20 to 30 kW to more than 100 kW.
