Shanghai Inaugurates National Humanoid Robot Innovation Center
TapTechNews May 18th news, at the 5th Shanghai Innovation and Entrepreneurship Youth 50 People Forum held today, Zhang Ying, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, said: Yesterday, the national-local co-built humanoid robot innovation center was inaugurated in Shanghai, which is also the (in the field of humanoid robots) the first national public platform.
Through this public platform, an innovative ecosystem integrating technology research and development, achievement incubation, talent cultivation, and platform support will be built, and at the same time, the research and development of the open source humanoid robot prototype will be accelerated.
She said that in the humanoid robot track, Shanghai is rushing to study and formulate relevant policies, guided by 'application traction and scenario driving', to support key technology research such as humanoid robot body, embodied intelligent large model, and dexterous hand; deepen the application of humanoid robots in industrial manufacturing, services and other fields, and strive to achieve 1000 large-scale application demonstrations within three years.
TapTechNews found that Shanghai is focusing on laying out strategic emerging industries and future industries, and accelerating the cultivation and formation of new-quality productive forces. In 2023, the scale of the artificial intelligence industry exceeded 380 billion yuan, there were about 350 enterprises above designated size, and the talent scale exceeded 250,000; in 2023, the output value of industrial robots was 24.902 billion yuan and the production volume was about 66,000 units, ranking among the top in the country, among which the 'Full-length Triangle-made' robot shipments reached 2338 units.
According to the 'Shanghai Action Plan for Promoting High-quality Innovative Development of the Intelligent Robot Industry (2023-2025)', by 2025, Shanghai will achieve 'ten hundred thousand' breakthroughs in terms of brand, application scenarios and industrial scale - creating 10 leading robot head brands in the industry, 100 benchmark demonstration robot application scenarios, and 1000 billion yuan in robot-related industrial scale.
Zhang Ying said that Shanghai will accelerate the implementation of the 'Intelligent Robot +' action, promoting 10,000 intelligent robots to enter intelligent factories, and the robot density in key industries will reach 500 units per 10,000 people in 2025.
When sharing the future plans of the new track, Zhang Ying talked about several fields, including the large model track, the humanoid robot track, the wide bandgap semiconductor track, the green and low-carbon track, the intelligent connected new energy vehicle track, the low-altitude economy track, the new materials track, and the advanced nuclear energy track.
