Tesla's Cybetruck Extended-Range Battery Service Update

TapTechNews August 13th news, Tesla announced in July this year to launch an extended-range battery service for its Cybetruck pickup. The relevant battery pack will be installed in the pickup truck bed, occupying approximately 33% of the truck bed volume. The service pricing including the battery itself and installation is $16,000 (TapTechNews note: currently about 116,000 yuan).

However, Tesla now announces that this service will be postponed until next year for delivery, and owners are required to pay a $500 (currently about 3,589 yuan) deposit in advance.

Tesla stated that this extended-range battery has passed safety acceptance in any crash test and needs to be installed/dismantled through Tesla's technical authorization department. The data after adding the battery is as follows. This is equivalent to increasing the battery capacity by about 47 kWh compared to the original model, making the total capacity reach about 170 kWh:

All-wheel-drive version model: From 340 miles (about 547.18 kilometers) to 470 miles (about 756.39 kilometers), the range is increased by approximately 38.2%.

All-wheel-drive Cyberbeast top configuration version: From 320 miles (about 514.99 kilometers) to 440 miles (about 708.11 kilometers), the range is increased by approximately 37.5%.
