The Odyssey3D monitor adopts the principle of Light Field Display (TapTechNews note), providing different pictures for the user's left and right eyes through the lens on the front panel, allowing users to observe realistic 3D images created from 2D content without special glasses.

In order to enhance the stereoscopic display effect of the Odyssey3D, Samsung also equipped this monitor with eye tracking and view mapping technology. The former uses the built-in stereo camera to monitor the movement of both eyes, while the view mapping continuously adjusts the image to enhance the user's depth perception.

Samsung said that the Odyssey3D can seamlessly switch between 2D and 3D display modes according to the user's preference.

The Samsung Odyssey3D monitor includes two sizes of 27 inches and 37 inches, both with 4K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate, and has a 1ms GtG gray-level response time, and has obtained AMD FreeSync Premium certification.

In addition, the Odyssey3D is equipped with 1 DP1.4 interface and 2 HDMI2.1 interfaces, and is equipped with an ergonomic bracket that supports height adjustment and tilt.

Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of the Enterprise Business Team of Samsung Electronics' VD business department, said:

We are very pleased to be able to showcase our naked-eye 3D game monitor at the world's largest game exhibition, Gamescom. Samsung will continue to be committed to enhancing the gaming experience by continuously developing cutting-edge technologies, thus leading the high-end game monitor market.
