Didi Chuxing in Talks to Sell Intelligent Driving Assets to Siwei Zhilian

TapTechNews August 26th news, according to China Business News, Didi Chuxing is in in-depth negotiations to sell its intelligent driving and cockpit assets to Siwei Zhilian, a subsidiary of NavInfo, in exchange for shares of Siwei Zhilian. The stock price of NavInfo closed up more than 10% on the same day.

Insiders revealed: 'There are still a series of procedures to go through, and there will be an announcement in the next few days.' It is also learned from the media that after Siwei Zhilian acquires Didi's intelligent driving and cockpit business, it may consider going public independently.

TapTechNews learned from the official website of Didi that the company has set up an autonomous driving technology research and development department since 2016. In August 2019, Didi announced that it would upgrade the autonomous driving department to an independent company, focusing on autonomous driving research and development, product application and related business expansion. Currently, Didi's autonomous driving has obtained autonomous driving public road test licenses in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hefei, Guangzhou and California, USA, and has obtained the first batch of intelligent connected vehicle demonstration application licenses issued by Shanghai.

And Beijing Siwei Zhilian Technology Co., Ltd. was established in April 2018 and was split from the original intelligent connected business of Beijing NavInfo Technology Co., Ltd. In 2021, through investment by Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, Nanjing Siwei Zhilian was established.
