AMD Ryzen 9 9950X Processor Extreme Overclocking with Liquid Nitrogen and Performance Enhancements
TapTechNews July 16th news, the AMD XOC team demonstrated overclocking the Ryzen 9 9950X processor at the Zen5 Technology Day. By overclocking the processor with liquid nitrogen (LN2), the score in CineBench R23 exceeded 55,000, and the power consumption was as high as 552 watts.
The overclocking platform used by the XOC team is the ASUS X670E ROG Crosshair Gene motherboard, which is a motherboard specifically designed for overclocking enthusiasts and is equipped with 2 DDR5 DIMMs.
The operating temperature of the Ryzen 9 9950X processor dropped to minus 90 degrees Celsius (-130 degrees Fahrenheit) after using liquid nitrogen, with a power consumption of 552 watts, and the CPU overclocked at 6.4 GHz, and the score in CineBench R23 exceeded 55,296. The XOC team also demonstrated extreme operations, and under special settings, the CPU frequency could be increased by 6.6 GHz/6.7 GHz.
In the default configuration of the Ryzen 9 9950X processor, the score in CineBench R23 is 41,924. If using PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive) and EXPO (DDR5 OC profile), the performance is expected to increase by 4.7% to 43,905.
After users use CurveShaper, the performance can be increased by up to 8% to 45,303, which may be the limit that ordinary enthusiasts can reach.
For professional users, using liquid nitrogen can increase the跑分 by 27.7% to 53,557, and in the WR extreme using liquid nitrogen overclocking can reach 55,296, an increase of 31.9%.
