Elon Musk's Lawsuit Against OpenAI and OpenAI's Response

TapTechNews October 9th news, two months ago, Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, accusing the company of abandoning its original mission of developing an open artificial intelligence platform to 'benefit humanity' and instead pursuing maximum profit.

On October 9 local time, OpenAI requested a federal judge to dismiss Elon Musk's lawsuit against the company, and OpenAI accused Elon Musk's lawsuit of being the latest move in 'increasingly arrogantly harassing OpenAI's activities for his own competitive advantage'.

In this lawsuit, Elon Musk claimed that OpenAI was originally a non-profit organization, and its co-founders Sam Altman and Greg Brockman (TapTechNews note: Greg has left) enriched themselves by manipulating this startup company to deplete its valuable technology and assets.

OpenAI pointed out that Elon Musk once supported its core goal of seeking 'the safe and beneficial development of general artificial intelligence', but he 'abandoned this adventure after losing the competition for dominance'. OpenAI believes that Elon Musk later launched his own AI startup company xAI and claims that he 'is trying to use the judicial system' to gain a competitive advantage in this field.
