The Father of Java, James Gosling, Announces His Retirement

TapTechNews July 8th news, two months after just celebrating his 69th birthday (about 69 years old), the father of the programming language Java, James Gosling (James Gosling), officially announced the news of his retirement on LinkedIn.

James Gosling said, I'm finally retired. After being a software engineer for so many years, it's time for me to have some fun. Although affected by COVID-19 and the industrial environment, the past 7 years at Amazon have been very beautiful. I still have a series of side projects to finish, which will be very interesting.

According to TapTechNews, James Gosling is a Canadian computer scientist. During his tenure at Sun Microsystems, he led the design and development of the Java programming language and is recognized as the father of Java, and was therefore awarded as a foreign member of the National Academy of Engineering in the United States.

Since its launch in 1995, Java has maintained its strong influence and has been ranked among the most popular languages for many consecutive years in the annual Octoverse report of GitHub. Although it was surpassed by TypeScript in 2023, its status still cannot be underestimated.
