Samsung Electronics' 2024 Partner List and Sustainability Update

TapTechNews July 3rd news, according to thelec report, Samsung Electronics announced the list of 2024 partner companies, which accounts for more than 80% of Samsung Electronics' component procurement amount. There are a total of 113 companies, with 11 new companies added and another 11 companies excluded.

On this list, Tianma (TianmaMicroelectronicsCo.,Ltd.), TPV (TPV Technology Co.,ltd.) and other companies were added, and the Indian PanelOptodisplayTechnology company was also included, which is the Indian subsidiary of CSOT (China Star Optoelectronics Technology).

However, even if a certain company is no longer included in a specific year's list, it does not mean that the trading relationship between this company and Samsung Electronics will immediately end. For example, BOE, which was not included in Samsung Electronics' partner list last year, is still supplying panels to Samsung Electronics.

The self-electronics that has long cooperated with Samsung Electronics was excluded from the list. Self-electronics entered the Apple supply chain in 2022, and it was previously widely believed that the number of smartphone-related components supplied by self-electronics to Samsung Electronics would decrease.

TapTechNews noted that Samsung Electronics also released the 2024 Sustainability Report, stating that by the end of 2023, the device experience department achieved 93.4% conversion of renewable energy - including 100% renewable energy used in major global manufacturing facilities in the United States, Europe, South Korea, China, Brazil, India, and Vietnam.
