Microsoft Evaluates March Cyber Security Incident, Affecting More Users

TapTechNews July 2nd. According to a report by the tech media TheRegister yesterday (July 1st), Microsoft deeply evaluated the cyber security incident that occurred in March this year and found that the leaked data affected more users. It has now urgently notified and required them to make modifications.

In March this year, Microsoft was severely cyberattacked, resulting in the leakage of email communication between the Federal Civil Executive Branch (FCEB) agencies and Microsoft, and it was determined that it was initiated by the hacker organization named 'MidnightBlizzard/CozyBear'.

A spokesperson for Microsoft disclosed to Bloomberg: 'We have informed more enterprise users involved in the MidnightBlizzard security incident and disclosed more information about this event.'

According to Bloomberg's report, the email sent to affected Microsoft customers contains a link to a security environment. Customers click on the link to visit the website to check if their information has been leaked. However, some enterprises think that Microsoft's approach is not appropriate enough. Enterprises may consider the email link as phishing information, or there may be attackers forging these information for phishing.

TapTechNews reported in April that the Cybersecurity Review Board (CSRB) of the United States released a 34-page security report, specifically criticizing Microsoft for not having sufficient security measures, resulting in the leakage of emails affecting more than 500 people from 22 organizations in the United States.
