GAC Toyota Partners with Momenta, Announces Intelligent Driving Solution and Future Cooperation

TapTechNews June 28th news, during the tech open day this morning, GAC Toyota announced the joint launch with Momenta of an end-to-end full-scenario intelligent driving solution, which will be first equipped on the all-new pure electric model bZ3X.

According to the introduction, this solution supports intelligent driving in urban and highway scenarios, intelligent parking, and has an end-to-end intelligent driving large model based on Momenta algorithm 5.0, and does not rely on high-precision maps. In terms of hardware, models adopting this solution will be equipped with a 126-line LiDAR and the NVIDIA Orin X platform, with compute power of 254 tera operations per second. This solution is claimed to be able to achieve'start driving as long as there is a road', 'avoid obstacles as long as there are obstacles', and 'park as long as there is a parking space'.

In addition, GAC Toyota also announced that it will in-depth cooperation with Huawei HMS in the future, and the two sides will jointly develop the intelligent cockpit.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, during the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, Toyota Motor released two new all-electric models: bZ3C and bZ3X. Chief Technology Officer Nakajima Hiroki disclosed that the two cars plan to start selling in China within one year.

bZ3C is jointly developed by Toyota Motor, BYD Automobile Co., Ltd., FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., and the Intelligent Electric Vehicle R & D Center of Toyota Motor (China) Co., Ltd., targeting Generation Z consumers;

bZ3X is jointly developed by Toyota Motor, Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd., GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., etc., targeting family users.
