Samsung Galaxy ZFold6Slim Approval Complete, to Be Released in Q4 with Larger Screens but Thinner Than Chinese Counterparts

TapTechNews July 5th news, TheElec of South Korean media reported that the approval of the main components of the Samsung Galaxy ZFold6 Slim phone has been completed, and it is about to enter the mass production stage and is expected to be released in the fourth quarter.

This thinner folding screen phone will be equipped with an 8-inch inner screen for the first time. In addition, it will also have a 6.5-inch outer screen, which is larger than the 7.6-inch inner screen and 6.3-inch outer screen of the Galaxy ZFold6 standard version.

The South Korean media said that Samsung had previously developed a prototype of a folding screen phone with an 8-inch inner screen, but the sample at that time had the problem of excessive thickness affecting the grip.

The report pointed out that Samsung Electronics did not decide to add an ultra-thin horizontal folding model to this year's folding screen phone product line on the basis of ZFold6 and ZFlip6 until early this year, so the development of ZFold6Slim is very hasty.

The report also mentioned that Samsung conducted a comprehensive test on ZFold6Slim in May this year.

The result shows that its inner screen can withstand 200,000 folds, and the overall dust-proof and water-proof performance has also reached the expected level, but it is still not as thin as the folding screen phone products in China's domestic market.

Samsung Electronics currently has an internal capacity planning target of 400,000 to 500,000 units for ZFold6Slim by the end of this year, and the supply is very limited, so this model will only be sold in a limited market.

According to the previous report by TapTechNews, the Samsung Galaxy ZFold6Slim phone is expected to be released in China under the name of W25, and the W25 model has recently passed the national 3C certification.
