GAC Group Partners with EHang Intelligent for Low-altitude Aircraft
TapTechNews July 6th news, according to the information of 'GAC Group', on July 4th and 5th, the Guangdong Provincial Low-altitude Economy High-quality Development Conference and the Guangzhou Municipal Promoting Low-altitude Economy High-quality Development and Accelerating the Construction of All-space Unmanned System Conference were held in Guangzhou respectively. GAC Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with EHang Intelligent Equipment (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'EHang Intelligent'), further deepening cooperation in the field of low-altitude aircraft.
According to the introduction, the strategic cooperation between GAC Group and EHang Intelligent will give full play to GAC Group's experience advantages in intelligent manufacturing, supply chain management and other fields, combined with EHang Intelligent's R & D and design advantages in manned autonomous aircraft, exploring the establishment of a joint venture company to jointly realize the production and promotion and application of driverless manned aircraft products.
At the end of last year, GAC signed a trilateral strategic cooperation framework agreement with Guangzhou Development District and the Fifth Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; in February this year, GAC reached a strategic cooperation consensus with EHang Intelligent and the Fifth Research Institute respectively to jointly promote the accelerated development of low-altitude economy in Guangzhou.
TapTechNews noticed that in June last year, GAC launched its first independently developed flying car GOVE, which adopts a separable airframe configuration and is equipped with GAC ADiGO-Pilot self-driving system and dual-backup multi-rotor flight system, able to achieve vertical takeoff and landing, and is equipped with a dual-backup multi-rotor flight system to ensure flight safety.
In addition, GAC Group will 'go online' with a compound-wing flying car within this year, which can be used for cross-city travel of 150 kilometers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. According to the plan, GAC will launch a flying car demonstration operation plan in 2027 and create an inter-city three-dimensional travel model in 2 to 3 cities in the Greater Bay Area.
