X Social Platform Developing Multiple Features Based on xAI Grok Model
TapTechNews July 8th news, independent app researcher NimaOwji said that the X social platform is developing multiple functions based on the xAI Grok model to provide a richer usage experience for X Premium subscribers.
One of them is the Grok sidebar similar to other generative AI chatbots, and users can communicate with the Grok bot when using any function of the X platform:
In addition, X will also add two other functions: Account summary and highlighted text search.
When users place the mouse on any X platform account name, a new line More about this account will appear at the bottom of the floating panel, and it is expected to provide more summary information of the Grok model on this account.
And when users drag the cursor to highlight the dynamic content, a AskGrok button will appear to directly use the Grok model for AI search.
NimaOwji confirmed to foreign media TechCrunch that these functions have not been opened to the public yet.
The new features that the X platform is developing aim to enhance the attractiveness of the X Premium paid subscription, which is regarded as an important source of revenue for the X platform in addition to advertising.
According to the data of analysis agency Appfigures, the post-commission revenue of the X platform on the mobile side in May this year was only $7.6 million (TapTechNews note: currently about 55.437 million RMB), a continuous decline for two consecutive months.
