Microsoft to Invest 1.3 Billion USD in Mexico for AI Development in Next Three Years

TapTechNews September 26th news, according to the Microsoft official website's press release on September 24th local time, Satya Nadella, the chairman and CEO of Microsoft, announced at the Microsoft AI Tour 2024 event held in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, that Microsoft will invest 1.3 billion US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 9.138 billion Chinese yuan) in the country in the next three years.

This fund will be used to strengthen the construction of AI infrastructure in Mexico; provide digital and AI skills learning opportunities for a wide range of people; and is committed to improving connectivity and encouraging small and medium-sized enterprises to adopt AI to accelerate the digital transformation and business operations of these enterprises in the country.

Microsoft will implement the 'AI National Skills Program' in Mexico, and cooperate with the government, industry, academia and civil society to teach AI skills to 5 million users, developers, teachers, organization leaders and other groups.
