Apple Announces New AI System 'AppleIntelligence' with Limitations

According to TapTechNews on June 11, at today's WWDC2024 event, Apple announced its brand-new AI system AppleIntelligence and will be landing on iPad, iPhone, and Mac platforms this autumn. However, unfortunately, there seem to be some limitations to this function, such as the possibility of having to join a waiting list to use it.

MacRumors discovered that the iOS 18 beta code shows that the code name of AppleIntelligence is Graymatter, which also mentions the waiting list, such as join the Graymatter waiting list and already on the waiting list.

In addition, there is a paragraph in the code that mentions: As Graymatter is in a limited preview phase, you may encounter extremely slow response rates when using it in unsupported areas.

Based on all this information, we can infer that Apple will test its AI functions in stages to ensure that it can meet server demands and fix bugs in a timely manner. However, it is not yet clear whether the limited preview refers to limiting the number of users or initially only providing partial functions in the AppleIntelligence beta version. Of course, it is also not excluded that both limitations exist simultaneously.
