TapTechNews September 24th news, recently an AI-driven copyright tool successfully deleted a large number of X posts containing AI-generated Mario images. This tool belongs to a company named Tracer, which used AI to identify these images and sent a takedown notice to the X platform on behalf of Nintendo.
According to the email received by TheVerge, Ben Arzen, the client success manager of Tracer, once sent a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice to X. Tracer provides AI-driven services to enterprises, which is said to be able to identify trademark and copyright infringement behaviors online.
The takedown requests include posts identified as infringing Nintendo's Mario copyright. Since these posts have now been deleted, it is impossible to see what these images look like.
A post by one of the accounts listed in the DMCA request, OtakuRockU, said that they received a warning that their account might be banned due to a drawing of Mario.
As of TapTechNews' press time, Nintendo has not responded to this matter.
