Microsoft's new API has achieved multi-vendor upgrades through a set of common inputs and outputs, unifying AMD's, Intel's and NVIDIA's upgrade solutions under one interface.

TapTechNews note: Previously, if a game wanted to implement super-resolution technology, in addition to using plugins such as Unreal Engine 5 with dedicated sampling, developers needed to implement it manually using a separate SDK. Now, through Microsoft's DirectSR, three upsampling techniques can be implemented at once, reducing the workload for developers to integrate DLSS, FSR and XeSS into the game.
