NIO's Charging Pile Layout and Future Plans in the US

TapTechNews August 20th news, at today's PowerUp 2024 NIO Power Day, NIO founder Li Bin announced the national NIO charging pile layout data. As of August 20, NIO has laid out 2,480 battery swap stations and 23,009 charging piles across the country.

Li Bin said that among these 23,009 charging piles, 80.25% of the electricity is served to non-NIO brands. The top three non-NIO brands are BYD (17.18%), Tesla (13.38%), and GAC Aion (7%). By comparison, NIO's own models account for 19.75% in the chart.

In addition, TapTechNews noticed that NIO plans to cover all county-level administrative regions in the country with charging piles by June 30, 2025. These charging piles will also be open to the whole platform, and all brands of electric vehicles can be used.

Regarding battery swapping, NIO also plans to complete the battery swap connection in all counties in 14 provincial-level administrative regions by June 30, 2025, covering more than 1,200 county-level administrative regions. The first batch includes Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Macau, Guangdong, Hubei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, Anhui, Fujian, etc.
