Alibaba Cloud and ZTE Announce Collaboration on Open-Source Databases

TapTechNews reported on May 16th that Alibaba Cloud and ZTE have announced a collaboration on open-source databases. ZTE has joined the PolarDB open-source community and been elected as a founding member of the council. The two companies will work together on the development of domestic databases based on the PolarDB database and EBASE database. PolarDB, developed by Alibaba Cloud, is a new generation cloud-native relational database that boasts both the low-cost advantage of distributed design and the usability of centralized design. It is 100% compatible with the MySQL and PostgreSQL ecosystems, supports distributed expansion, and is highly compatible with Oracle syntax. In January of this year, Alibaba Cloud held the PolarDB Developer Conference in Beijing, announcing a new version of three-tier separation for the cloud-native database PolarDB. By leveraging intelligent decision-making, query performance is improved by 10 times and costs are reduced by 50%. PolarDB has achieved a growth rate of 400% over the past 3 years and currently has over 10,000 users. It is widely used in core business systems in sectors such as government, finance, telecommunications, logistics, and the internet.
