China-EU Electric Vehicle Dispute Facts and Rules in Anti-Subsidy Case

TapTechNews July 11th news, according to CCTV News, the Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference this afternoon. In the questions raised by a reporter, it was mentioned that recently, foreign media reported that the EU's anti-subsidy investigation report on Chinese electric vehicles pointed out that after Chinese car companies received subsidies from the Chinese government, it caused unfair price competition to European car companies.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, He Yongqian, said in response to the above questions that currently, both China and the EU are negotiating on the anti-subsidy case of electric vehicles. Facts and rules are the two pillars of the negotiation. The facts here refer to mutually recognized objective facts, rather than the so-called facts recognized by only one side. It is hoped that the EU will face up to the fact that the competitive advantage of Chinese electric vehicles does not come from subsidies, face up to the fact that the cooperation between the Chinese and European automotive industries is conducive to common development, and face up to the fact that the industry in the EU opposes trade protectionist measures, and truly make a reasonable and objective decision based on facts and rules.

In the regular press conference of the Ministry of Commerce on July 4th, the spokesperson, He Yadong, said that the Chinese side noted that some EU member state governments and major automotive enterprises have repeatedly and clearly opposed the EU's implementation of anti-subsidy measures on Chinese electric vehicles. It is hoped that the EU will move in the same direction as the Chinese side, show sincerity, and speed up the negotiation process, and quickly reach a mutually acceptable solution based on facts and rules.

The EU's tariff on Chinese electric vehicles took effect on July 4th, for details, see the previous report of TapTechNews.
