Xiaomi Auto Recruits Wang Naiyan, A Boost for Intelligent Driving

TapTechNews May 23rd news, 36Kr Auto reported that former TuSimple China CTO Wang Naiyan will join Xiaomi Auto and report to Ye Hangjun, the chairman of Xiaomi's Technical Committee and the person in charge of Xiaomi Auto's autonomous driving.

Dr. Wang Naiyan graduated from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, is good at deep learning, and is a core developer of the deep learning open-source framework MXNet. He has published more than 40 papers in top conferences and journals in computer vision and machine learning.

Previously, Wang Naiyan led the R & D and management work of TuSimple China, and at the same time was responsible for the development and implementation of L2-level assisted driving and L4-level autonomous driving solutions. Wang Naiyan's joining is a landmark signal for the acceleration of Xiaomi's intelligent driving technology.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, Lei Jun announced on May 15th that since the first delivery on April 3rd, in 43 days, Xiaomi SU7 has delivered 10,000 vehicles. Xiaomi's achievements in sales and vehicle manufacturing have set a new record, and Lei Jun's work focus has begun to shift to intelligent driving.

On May 18th, Lei Jun conducted the live debut of high-speed and urban NOA in the Xiaomi SU7Pro. During the live broadcast, Lei Jun dispelled the rumor that Xiaomi will cooperate with a third-party visual solution. Lei Jun shouted for recruitment twice in the live broadcast and publicly asked if there are any intelligent driving experts willing to join Xiaomi.
