Geke Microelectronics Announces Mass Production of 2nd Gen 32MP Image Sensor GC32E2

TapTechNews June 20th news, on June 19th, Geke Microelectronics announced the successful mass production of the second-generation single-chip 32-megapixel image sensor - GC32E2. The sensor has a size of 1/3.1 inches and supports 1080p 60 fps video shooting, suitable for mobile terminals such as smartphones and tablets.

Jeffery Yang, the marketing director of Geke Microelectronics Co., Ltd., revealed that the first-generation GC32E1 of Geke Microelectronics has cumulatively shipped more than 20 million units. The upgraded product GC32E2 launched this year has been improved in terms of focusing, dynamic range, and AON functions.

TapTechNews found out that OPPO Reno12 overseas version mobile phone is the first to carry Geke Microelectronics' GC32E2 and is used for the front camera of the mobile phone.

The single-frame high dynamic DAG HDR technology is a major highlight of GC32E2, which can retain the highlight details and shadow texture in the image and improve the quality of images and videos.

GC32E2 is equipped with phase focusing technology and realizes the AON always-on low-power consumption characteristic, supporting two modes of ALS (Ambient Light Sensing) and ULP (Ultra Low Power) ultra-low power consumption, enabling the platform-side low-power consumption to support facial recognition function, protecting user privacy, preventing screen peeping, and realizing functions such as intelligent always-on screen.
