BAIC's 2024 BJ40 Ring Tower Champion Edition Off-road Vehicle to be Launched on July 15th with Upgrades

TapTechNews July 12th news, BAIC Motor announced that its 2024 model year BJ40 Ring Tower Champion Edition off-road vehicle will be launched on July 15th. The main upgrade points of this car compared to the 2023 model are that its front bumper, wheel arches and other parts are all designed with quick-release, facilitating the installation of aftermarket parts such as competition bumpers / cattle rail bumpers and alloy wheel arches. There are also multiple anchor points reserved in the car at the same time, which can meet the installation needs of equipment such as handheld radios in the later stage.

TapTechNews learned through inquiry that the Ring Tower Champion Edition series of off-road vehicle models under Beijing all adopt the special color of Storm Gray in appearance, use all-terrain tires, and have a special nameplate on the body representing the three peaks surrounding the Taklimakan Desert (the official has not released the nameplate picture for the time being), and also have decals extending from the A-pillar to the bottom of the vehicle side.

In the cockpit, the car is equipped with a dual-screen (dual 12.8-inch) + 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, provides Harman Kardon audio (with ANC active noise reduction function), and can also optionally install L2-level assisted driving and the queen's co-pilot.

In terms of specifications, the new car has a length, width and height of 4790x1940x1915 millimeters and a wheelbase of 2760 millimeters. It is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a maximum power of 180 kilowatts and a peak torque of 395 Newton-meters. The transmission system is matched with an 8-speed automatic manual transmission and is equipped with a time-sharing four-wheel drive system.
