All-New SAIC Volkswagen Passat PRO to Debut at Chengdu Auto Show in August

TapTechNews August 24th news, according to the official of SAIC Volkswagen, the all-new Passat PRO sedan will make its debut at the Chengdu Auto Show which kicks off on August 30th. This car is the ninth-generation model of the Passat family, with upgraded appearance and interior, and it is expected to go on sale in mid-to-late September.

The car has started mass production and rolled off the assembly line in July. It is a sedan version unique to China (TapTechNews note: only station wagons are provided overseas), and it is expected to adopt the sales strategy of 'two generations sold simultaneously' like the Tiguan L PRO. And according to SAIC Volkswagen's revelation in May, the new car is expected to be launched in September.

As a new-generation model, the all-new Passat PRO will offer two front face styles. The fronts of both models adopt a 'big-mouth' central grille. One adopts a through-metal trim design, and the other is all blackened with hexagonal grids inside, forming a clear distinction in the overall temperament - the former is more business-oriented, and the latter is more sporty.

The declaration information shows that the all-new Passat PRO has a length, width and height of 5006/1850/1489mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2871mm. This new car can be optionally equipped with bumpers, headlamps, radiator grilles, door handles, front cameras, rear logos, etc. In contrast, the current Passat model on sale has a length, width and height of 4948/1836/1469mm and a wheelbase of 2871mm.

In terms of power, the all-new Volkswagen Passat PRO is expected to be equipped with 1.5T and 2.0T engines, with the maximum power of 118kW and 162kW respectively.
