Toyota in Brazil Offers Bulletproof Modifications for Corolla and Other Models

Toyota Brazil has collaborated with local armor experts Avallon, Carbon, EvolutionBlindagens, and ParviBlindados to provide armor modification services for new and used cars. Interested customers can send their vehicles to the armor company of their choice through local Toyota dealers for modification, and even this can be done before taking delivery.

The convertible models include the Corolla sedan, the Corolla Cross SUV, the Hilux pickup (Hilux), and the SW4 (Fortuner) SUV according to the information on the official website. For used cars after 2020, as long as they pass the assessment of Toyota dealers, they can also be modified.

These companies enhance the safety of the vehicle by reinforcing the body with special composites and installing thicker windows. Allegedly, the armor can resist the shooting of small firearms and the attack of other weapons such as baseball bats or metal pipes.

It is not clear about the specific cost of the modification for now, but the company provides a 5-year warranty for the armor installation service, and the material warranty period is 5 years or 10 years depending on the specific part.

TapTechNews noticed that although the overall crime rate in Brazil has slightly decreased, as many as 39,500 people were homicide victims last year. This grim reality has spurred the growth of demand for vehicle safety, and Brazilians hope to protect themselves from the ubiquitous violent threats on domestic roads.
