Audi to Release Multiple New Models, Including the Long-Awaited A6 e-tron and Q5

TapTechNews July 13th news, according to CarScoops report, on local time July 12th, Audi CEO Ger not Dörner confirmed in an interview that the Audi A6 e-tron will be officially released at the end of July, and the all-new Audi Q5 will also make its debut this autumn.

Shortly after on July 16th, the new-generation Audi A5 (TapTechNews note: actually the successor model of the fuel version of Audi A4, Audi has now allocated odd-numbered sequences to fuel cars and even-numbered sequences to electric vehicles) will complete its world premiere.

Ger not Dörner boasted: From this year to next year, Audi will release more than 20 new models, including 10 pure electric vehicles!

The official also showed the teaser image of the upcoming new-generation Audi A5, showing the posture of a station wagon and is expected to be named the new-generation Audi A5 Avant.

As for the Audi A6 e-tron, the concept car of its sedan version had already completed its world premiere during the Shanghai Auto Show in 2021. According to the information disclosed by the official previously, the new car is built based on the PPE platform. The domestic version is produced by FAW Audi's Changchun plant and is equipped with an approximately 100 kWh battery pack, with a WLTP range of over 700 kilometers, and the maximum charging power is 270 kW, and it also supports 800-volt fast charging technology.

The Audi A6 Avant e-tron is equipped with digital matrix LED headlights and a newly designed flat daytime running light. Among them, the digital matrix LED headlights have a projection function and can project a virtual game screen onto the wall. The lighting system equipped by this car can also be intelligently adjusted according to the road conditions, weather and surrounding environment.

This car will also provide a dual-motor high-performance model equipped with the e-quattro intelligent four-wheel drive system. The total output power can reach 350 kW, and the peak torque reaches 800 N·m, and the 0-100 km/h acceleration time is less than 4 seconds.

But it should be noted that Audi A6's old rivals, the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, have respectively released their own pure electric versions - the BMW i5 and the Mercedes-Benz EQE in 2023 and 2022. In contrast, the electric version of Audi A6 can be said to be rather late.
