TapTechNews May 22nd news, Walmart's Onn brand has launched a new 4K Pro TV box, with an online price of $49.88 (TapTechNews note: currently about 361 RMB), which is much more expensive than the previous $20 model.
This Google TV TV box is equipped with a quad-core Cortex-A55 CPU + Mali-G31MP2 GPU, has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM storage space, supports 4K UHD output, provides a USB 3.0 interface and a 100Mbps network port, and supports Wi-Fi 6.
In other aspects, this TV box also has Google Assistant, supports hands-free voice control, supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and also has the special Find My Remote function.
In simple terms, there is a small button on the front of the box, and as long as you press it, it will make the remote control beep (within 30 feet), and at the same time, the LED light of the remote control will flash for 30 seconds.
It is worth noting that this is not an exclusive feature of Walmart. Essentially, this feature is one of the new features of Android 14 for TV, but Walmart has applied it to this new product in advance (running Android 12 for TV).
Google launched the latest version of the Android TV system at last week's Google I/O developer conference, but currently no manufacturer has launched the corresponding product. To allow developers time to adapt, Google has launched an emulator version of the new Google TV.
Android developer Mishaal Rahman found strings related to the Find My Remote function in the new Android TV system, which means that in the future, more streaming media boxes may launch similar Find My Remote functions.
