BYD Seal EV Keeps Name, Seal 07DM-i Details Revealed
TapTechNews August 1st news, tonight, Zhang Zhuo, the general manager of BYD Ocean Network Sales Division, posted on the social platform that the BYD Seal EV will retain the original name of Seal and not make any changes. The official appearance image of this new car was also released, and the color was named Sky Purple.
It can be seen from the picture that the 2025 BYD Seal adopts the family-style design language, not much different from the current model. For reference, the length, width and height of the current Seal are 4800/1875/1460 millimeters respectively, and the wheelbase is 2920 millimeters. The CLTC working condition range of the current Seal Glory Edition rear-wheel drive model is 550 kilometers and 700 kilometers, and the four-wheel drive model is 650 kilometers.
In addition, Zhang Zhuo also mentioned that the second car of the Ocean Network equipped with the fifth-generation DM technology will be officially named Seal 07DM-i. The new car will break through the limit of fuel consumption and range of products at the same level, and at the same time realize comprehensive renewal in multiple dimensions such as intelligence, safety and comfort. And Seal 07EV will also meet everyone as a larger size member of the Seal family.
The Seal 07DM-i has been declared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology previously, and the body size is 4980/1890/1495 millimeters, and the wheelbase is 2900 millimeters. The car provides two power types of 1.5-liter plug-in hybrid and 1.5T plug-in hybrid. The maximum power of the 1.5-liter engine is 74 kilowatts, and it is matched with a drive motor with a maximum power of 160 kilowatts; the maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 115 kilowatts, and it is matched with a drive motor with a maximum power of 200 kilowatts.
In terms of batteries, the Seal 07DM-i provides two battery capacity versions of 10.08 kWh and 17.626 kWh, corresponding to the pure electric range of 55 kilometers and 100 kilometers respectively, and the comprehensive fuel consumption per 100 kilometers in the lowest state of charge is 4.2 liters, 4.4 liters, and 4.7 liters.
