TapTechNews July 5th news, the Zhongyi Optics 80mm F1.6 medium format lens goes on sale today (July 5th) at 7:00 PM, with a regular retail price of 4280 Chinese Yuan ($615) and a launch price of 3880 Chinese Yuan ($555).

The lens has 6 groups of 10 lenses, including 1 ED and 3 super high refractive index lenses; a dual-group differential focus design, and the closest shooting distance can reach 0.5 meters (about 1.64 feet).

The lens uses manual focus and supports Fujifilm GFX and Hasselblad XCD mounts, with weights of 850 grams (about 1.87 pounds) and 890 grams (about 1.96 pounds) respectively.

According to TapTechNews' inquiries, the predecessor of Shenyang Zhongyi Optics Technology Co., Ltd. is the original Shenyang Medicon Optical electronics Co., Ltd., which was jointly funded by Shenyang Optical Instrument Factory and the Japanese Mita Optics Research Institute in 1984 and was the second Sino-foreign joint venture company in Shenyang.

And this Japanese Mita Optics Research Institute is a professional Japanese lens research institute that produces a series of camera lenses. One of the product brands is the Medicon brand, namely Mitakon.

In 2004, when the 20-year joint venture of Shenyang Medicon Optical Electronics Co., Ltd. expired, the company was restructured into a Chinese sole proprietorship private company, and the company's name was changed to Shenyang Zhongyi Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., which produces lenses of the two brands Mitakon Medicon and Zhongyi Zhongyi.
