Apple to Add CarKeys Function to Lynk & Co Cars; Future Outlook

TapTechNews August 8th news, MacRumors' unpacking of the Apple Wallet App found that Apple has added codes related to Lynk & Co cars, which means the Apple CarKeys function is about to land on Lynk & Co cars.

With the help of the Apple CarKeys function, users can unlock their beloved cars through the NFC of iPhone or Apple Watch. In fact, the Lynk & Co 01 model already supports Apple CarPlay, but this model does not have NFC function. The just-released 2025 Lynk & Co 08 EM-P supports UWB/NFC digital key keyless unlock to get on the car, but the specific details may need to be confirmed after the new car is delivered.

According to previous revelations, the Lynk & Co Z20 is about to be released, which is also the second pure electric vehicle of Lynk & Co. This model is expected to be launched in multiple European markets, so MacRumors speculates that this model will introduce support for the Apple CarKeys.

Apple launched the CarKeys function in 2022, and currently automakers such as BMW, Rivian, Kia and Hyundai have all achieved support for Apple CarKeys.
