TapTechNews June 27th news, YouTube channel LukeMiani released a video yesterday (June 26th) testing the brand new Surface Laptop Version 7 with Qualcomm Snapdragon XPlus chip and comparing it with Apple MacBook Air laptop with M2 chip.
The host used the Cinebench software for the test, which would make the CPU operate at full load to judge the impact on battery life.
The host ran Cinebench twice, 10 minutes each time, for a total of 20 minutes. Under the same fully charged environment, the remaining battery of M2 MacBook Air after running was 90%, while the remaining battery of Surface Laptop 7 equipped with Snapdragon XPlus was 65%.
The M2 MacBook Air is equipped with a 52 watt-hour battery, while the brand new Surface Laptop Version 7 is equipped with a 54 watt-hour battery. Judging from the parameters, the battery capacity of M2 MacBook Air is smaller, and the MacBook Air in this comparison test has been used for more than 2 years, and the battery health must have declined.
