TapTechNews October 7th news, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Commerce released the implementation guidelines for the electric bicycle trade-in subsidy in Shenzhen in 2024 yesterday.
From the date of the issuance of the implementation guidelines until December 31, 2024 (including the same day, hereinafter the same), for individual consumers who surrender and scrap old electric bicycles (including batteries) that have been registered and plated with the local public security traffic management department in Shenzhen and purchase new electric bicycles that meet national standards, a one-time subsidy will be given.
When purchasing a new electric bicycle with a sales price of $220 (inclusive) or more, a one-time subsidy of $73 will be given, and the sales price is based on the tax-inclusive price of the new car invoice. For each scrapped old vehicle, only one new vehicle purchased by it can be subsidized, and each person can apply for a maximum of one subsidy.
The subsidy application time is from the date when the declaration platform goes online to 24:00 on January 10, 2025. If it is necessary to change and correct relevant information, it should also be completed before 24:00 on January 10, 2025, and it will not be processed after the expiration.
During the subsidy activity, consumers can either scrap the old plated vehicle first and then purchase a new vehicle that meets the conditions, or purchase a new vehicle that meets the conditions first and then scrap the old plated vehicle.
Both the old and new electric bicycles must be registered and plated with the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Traffic Management Department. Among them, the old electric bicycle scrapped by the applicant must be registered under the applicant's name before September 5, 2024 (including the same day), and the new vehicle registration and plating must be completed before January 10, 2025 (including the same day).
