Fire at Tata Electronics Factory in India Suspends iPhone Parts Production

Local fire official M. Velu said: We have already deployed fire trucks at the factory because there is a possibility of a subsequent fire or smoke when dismantling the collapsed shed in the accident. The official also said, We have not yet determined the cause of the fire.

The fire occurred early Saturday at the factory in Tamil Nadu state, resulting in 10 people suffering minor injuries and production being suspended.

Apple has not yet commented on this incident, while Tata said it is investigating the cause of the fire and its emergency plan at the factory ensured the safety of employees.

The rescue team was still cleaning up debris on Monday, and due to the large amount of damage, the officials in charge of the inspection work faced many difficulties during the inspection.

According to TapTechNews' understanding, the factory produces key back plates and some other parts of the iPhone. In the same park, another building will start assembling iPhones by the end of the year, but it is not clear whether it is affected.

Indian senior health official Shilpa Prabhakar Satish said when visiting the factory on Sunday that the factory burned very severely, (inside) completely invisible. The building is collapsing, the roof is collapsing, and no one can enter.
