OpenAI's development and impact Murati's view and more

TapTechNews May 30 - According to a report by Bloomberg, Mira Murati, the chief technology officer of OpenAI, participated in the AsiaTechX conference in Singapore today via video link. She stated that OpenAI's latest GPT-4o model can help users generate texts, presentations, videos, and other content, is easier to use, and is promoting widespread adoption by users. Currently, people are increasingly using AI tools to complete tasks such as coding, writing, and administrative work.

Murati said, 'We haven't fully recognized the impact this will have on businesses and work because it's just the beginning. But so far, what we've seen is that in a very short time, these AI systems have entered the workplace as 'helpers.' The current development of AI is very competitive, and competition is actually very beneficial, especially in the security field where people won't 'cut corners.'

According to a previous report by TapTechNews, Jerome Powell, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, said that generative AI can boost productivity growth, but 'probably not in the short term,' so there is a saying that the potential of current AI is 'overhyped.'

Brad Lightcap, the chief operating officer of OpenAI, also put forward a similar view to Murati this month. Lightcap said, 'Can it reshape the economic landscape in just one year? That's asking too much of us!' If OpenAI stopped all future AI development (of course, it won't do that), then the full impact of its existing model would still take a considerable amount of time to manifest.

In short, it may take people even longer to see the true impact of AI on the economic field.
