TapTechNews June 11th news, MSI demonstrated a brand new M.2 expansion card named M.2 Xpander-AeroSlider Gen5 at Computex Taipei 2024. It can support up to 2 M.2 hard disks of 22110 size with a speed of Gen5.
MSI said that if users want to expand the M.2 card, usually they need to open the computer case, and it is not very convenient whether it is to add or replace the solid-state drive.
MSI's M.2 Xpander-AeroSlider Gen5 brings a completely different solution, allowing users to directly replace/install the M.2 SSD without opening the computer case or removing the expansion card.
TapTechNews quoted the official MSI report that this convenience does not affect the performance of the SSD. This expansion card can support up to 2 M.2 hard disks of 22110 size. It provides a maximum PCIe 5.0 x4 transfer speed.
