TikTok to Downsize Operations and Marketing Teams

TapTechNews on May 22, according to foreign media TheInformation, TikTok has informed its employees that it plans to significantly downsize its operations and marketing teams this week.

The report said that the specific number of layoffs is not yet clear, but employees said that the layoffs will affect a large part of about 1,000 employees in TikTok's global user operations, content and marketing departments.

The news also pointed out that TikTok plans to disband its global user operations team, which is responsible for handling user support and user communication and other matters; informed sources said that the remaining employees of the team will be reallocated to TikTok's trust and safety, marketing content and product teams, and TikTok plans to notify employees late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
