Air China Flight CA4578 Returns Due to Suspected Mechanical Problems in China

The Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport confirmed to the Cháo Xīnwén that the CA4578 flight did return that night.

According to Hongxing News, it was learned from many passengers on this flight that after the plane returned and docked at the boarding bridge, they saw a situation where the windshield on one side of the plane seemed to be cracked during the disembarkation process.

TapTechNews found out through the Flightradar24 App that this plane is the third Boeing 787-9 model received by Air China, and the receiving time was June 24, 2016, and it has been in service for more than 8 years.

The CA4578 flight took off from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport at 20:01 on the evening of October 4th and returned to Xiaoshan Airport at 21:18. After the return, Air China replaced it with an Airbus A330 passenger plane to execute this flight.

According to the Southern Metropolis Daily report on October 5th, a staff member of Air China to which the flight belongs responded that there was indeed a return situation, It is due to problems with the airline, but the specific reason was not disclosed. The staff member also said that no passengers on the flight were injured, and then arranged for a re-takeoff, and landed safely in Chongqing early the next morning.
