Chinese Domestic Large Models See Successive Price Reductions

As previously reported by TapTechNews, ByteDance released the Doubao large model on May 15th, claiming to be 99.3% cheaper than the industry. On the 21st, Alibaba Cloud announced that Tongyi Qianwen Qwen-Long reduced its price by 97%. Subsequently, Baidu's Wenxin large model announced that the two main models are completely free. On the 22nd, Tencent announced that the Hunyuan large model is comprehensively reduced in price, and Hunyuan-lite is adjusted to be free.
In response, the founder and CEO of Zero-One Universe, Kai-Fu Lee, said: We have noticed the recent phenomenon of price reduction. I think our pricing is still very reasonable, and we are also spending a lot of energy hoping to reduce the cost further. It is expected and inevitable that the entire industry can reduce the inference cost by 10 times every year. From this perspective, the current price reduction is good news for the entire industry.
Although price reduction is the general trend, Kai-Fu Lee believes that in China, the crazy price reduction and lose-lose approach like that of ofo is often seen, and large model companies will not be so irrational because technology is still the most important. If the technology is not good enough, it is not feasible to simply rely on subsidizing and losing money to do business. When his team believes that their technology is worthy, they will adhere to an appropriate price, and never rely on subsidizing and losing money to do business.
Kai-Fu Lee clearly stated that he will not benchmark such (market) pricing. If the Chinese market is so competitive that everyone would rather lose everything and have a total loss than let you win, then we will go to the foreign market.
In the latest ranking of the LMSYS blind test arena, Zero-One Universe's latest 100-billion-parameter model Yi-Large ranks seventh in the overall list in the world, and ranks first among Chinese large models.
