CATL Unveils New Bus Battery Solution with Impressive Features

TapTechNews September 13th news, CATL released the bus version solution of the Tianxing commercial vehicle series today. The energy density of this battery reaches 175 Wh/kg, and the battery warranty covers the entire vehicle life cycle, up to 15 years or 1.5 million kilometers (about 932,057 miles).

This battery adopts a U-shaped sealing scheme, a zero draft angle upper cover design, and an integrated thermal management box, and the volumetric energy density has increased by 22% compared to the previous generation.

This battery supports IP69 level protection and is equipped with an intelligent safety monitoring system.

At present, CATL's Tianxing commercial vehicle bus battery solution has cooperated with 13 customers, and will be installed on 80 buses.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, on July 4 this year, CATL released a new brand of new energy commercial batteries, CATL Tianxing, and launched the first batch of Tianxing logistics commercial batteries, with 2 landing products:

Tianxing L-Supercharging Edition is the world's first 4C supercharging light commercial vehicle power battery, which can quickly replenish 60% of power in 12 minutes. The energy density of the battery system reaches 155 Wh/kg and has a battery capacity of 140 degrees, and can achieve a 350 km range in the real working condition of the vehicle being fully loaded and at a high speed of 80 km/h.

Tianxing L-Long-range Edition can achieve an ultra-long range of 500 km with a single charge in the real working condition of the vehicle being fully loaded and at a high speed of 80 km/h. At the same time, the battery capacity is as high as 200 degrees, and the energy density of the system reaches 200 Wh/kg, which is the highest energy density for commercial vehicles in the logistics industry, and the volumetric utilization rate has also been greatly improved.
