TapTechNews July 16th news, there were reports last month that Sony might phase out the Xperia V series and only keep the Xperia 1 as its high-end smartphone product line. However, the product information of a recent phone case manufacturer seems to indicate that the Sony Xperia V series will continue to exist.
A German online retailer has listed the Spigen Rugged Armor phone case for the Xperia 5 VI, and the attached picture shows the phone case on a suspected Xperia 5 VI body model. There are some slight differences compared to the Xperia 5 V that went on sale last year.
One notable difference is that the camera flash of the Xperia 5 VI is larger than that of the Xperia 5 V. The spy photos also show the headphone jack on the top of the phone, the side fingerprint recognition module and the volume keys, but not the shutter key. The display size and ratio of the two phones seem to be the same.
TapTechNews noted that the Xperia 5 V last year was released in September, and Sony still has plenty of time to warm up the Xperia 5 VI.
