The report stated that the two major factors driving the growth of PC shipments in 2024 are mainly the product upgrade cycle and the drive of AIPC. Laptops equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon XElite and XPlus chips have begun to trigger the first round of AI laptop upgrade fever. In addition, both AMD and Intel are planning to launch new products in the third quarter to further promote the popularity of AIPC.

It is reported that Lenovo's market share in the second quarter was 23.6%, with shipments of 14.7 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4%; HP and Dell, supported by the recovery of North American orders, had market shares of 21% and 16% respectively this quarter. Apple's market share was 8.5%, and Acer ranked fifth, with a year-on-year increase of 8%.

TapTechNews attached the following opinion of senior analyst William Li:

AIPC will ignite the PC market in the second half of 2024. Suppliers are accelerating the popularity of AIPC, but the initial price of AIPC is relatively high, and the corporate (commercial) demand will lead in the mainstream consumer field.

Benefiting from the AIPC demand and the post-COVID-19 renewal cycle, we reaffirm the view that PC shipments will increase by about 3% in 2024.
