Beijing Offers Trade-in Subsidies for Green and Smart Consumer Goods

TapTechNews June 3rd. Recently, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce issued an announcement on the implementation of subsidies for encouraging the trade-in of green and smart consumer goods. Since 10 a.m. on May 31st, subsidies for trade-in in Beijing have been distributed to consumers in Beijing to encourage them to purchase 26 types of goods such as green and smart home appliances and home furnishing.

Includes televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers, computers, water heaters (including gas wall-mounted furnaces), range hoods, gas stoves, air purifiers, microwave ovens, projection equipment, dishwashers, toilets (including smart toilets), water purifiers, and showerheads with first-class energy efficiency (water efficiency).

Includes robot vacuum cleaners, smart toilet seat covers, vacuum cleaners, electric ovens, floor washers, garbage disposers, stereos (speakers), smart door locks, smart sofas, smart beds.

TapTechNews learned that when purchasing new products, Beijing will give a subsidy of 10% of the new product sales price after all the discounts and preferences of the enterprise. The maximum subsidy for a single item is 1000 yuan. In each implementation stage, you can enjoy the purchase of new items for each type of item and a maximum of 3 types of goods through the same policy participating enterprise.

In the payment process, financial institutions will provide superimposed discounts and concessional consumer loan interest rates for different payment methods such as digital yuan and credit cards.

If users trade in old products such as refrigerators, washing machines, TVs, and air conditioners in specified categories, the participating enterprises will give an additional subsidy of more than 2% of the new product sales price after all the discounts and preferences of the enterprise on the basis of the old machine's discount.

Five online platforms such as JD.com, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Meituan, and Tmall, and more than 400 offline home appliance and digital product sales stores participate in the policy implementation. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, UnionPay, Bank of Communications, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, and Postal Savings Bank of China participate in the superimposed discounts.
