BAIC Group's 2024 First Half Sales and Future Developments

TapTechNews July 12th news, BAIC Group announced that the cumulative sales in the first half of 2024 was 771,000 vehicles, a 5.9% decrease from 819,000 vehicles in the same period last year; in June this year, the sales volume of BAIC Group was 148,000 vehicles, an increase of 11.44% month-on-month.

At present, the brands announced by BAIC Group include: Arcfox, Beijing Auto, Beijing Benz, Beijing Hyundai and Foton, a total of five brands. The sales volume of BAIC Group's independent passenger cars was 73,000 vehicles, an increase of 111.3% month-on-month and 15.2% year-on-year.

The sales volume of the Arcfox brand in June exceeded 8,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 314.8% and a month-on-month increase of 77.8%. In the first half of this year, the cumulative sales volume of the Arcfox brand was 18,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 110.2%;

The domestic sales volume of Beijing brand off-road vehicles in the first half of the year was 16,200 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 24.1%.

Beijing Benz has cumulatively exceeded 5 million units in production, officially entering a new era of 'double 5 million' in both vehicle and engine production. (Specific data not announced)

Beijing Hyundai's sales volume in the first half of the year was 100,000 vehicles.

Foton's cumulative sales volume in the first half of the year was 300,200 vehicles, among which the sales of new energy vehicles was 20,000 vehicles, an increase of 22.44% year-on-year.

TapTechNews noticed that the pre-sale price of the new car Xiangjie S9 jointly built by BAIC and Huawei is $6,900-$7,900 (450,000-550,000 yuan), and it has now started booking, and the official launch is expected to be held in Beijing in early August. The new factory project for producing Xiangjie S9 plans to produce 120,000 new energy passenger cars annually, and the sales volume is expected to reach 480,000 units within the life cycle (5 years).
