Tesla relaunches referral program with larger rewards in the US

TapTechNews August 25th, Tesla announced that it has relaunched its owner referral program in the US and restored larger rewards: a $1,000 (TapTechNews note: currently about 7,131 Chinese yuan) discount for purchasing a Tesla electric vehicle through referral by others.

TapTechNews noticed that Tesla's referral program has existed on and off for more than ten years and was briefly cancelled last April. In recent years, Tesla has significantly reduced the incentive measures for participating in the referral program, reducing its importance in the marketing strategy.

Nowadays, Tesla has relaunched the referral program and restored larger rewards:

If a new Tesla buyer purchases a Model S, Model X, Model Y or Model 3 through someone else's referral code, the new buyer will get a $1,000 discount, and the referrer can get $500, which can be used to purchase any Tesla product, including vehicles.

The previous referral program provided points that could only be used to purchase a small portion of products offered on the Tesla mobile application, and now the points earned by Tesla owners can be used to buy new cars, which may make the program more popular.
