TapTechNews noted that last weekend, The Wall Street Journal hinted that Apple and Meta were actively discussing integrating Facebook's large language model Llama into the AppleIntelligence feature of iOS 18. The report said that the two sides were still in discussions and had not yet finalized. But the latest Bloomberg report indicates that Apple never seriously considered cooperating with Meta.

The initial negotiations took place while Apple was simultaneously discussing with OpenAI and Google's parent company Alphabet, but in the end Apple decided not to have more formal discussions because Apple believes Meta's privacy protection measures are not strict enough.

Ultimately, Apple reached an agreement with OpenAI, and ChatGPT will be integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. Users can choose to enable ChatGPT, and when encountering some complex needs, Siri can transfer these needs to the more powerful ChatGPT for processing. In addition, Apple is also collaborating with Google and plans to integrate the large language model Gemini into its operating systems, and is in discussions with the artificial intelligence company Anthropic.

At the WWDC conference, Apple's software engineering director Craig Federighi said that Apple hopes to provide users with artificial intelligence models from different suppliers for selection, and the company plans to reach cooperation agreements with multiple suppliers.
